What a gem of a place! A small little coffee shop, simple and quaint, that allows their excellent coffee and food to do all the talking!

Despite the craziness of the economic recession, if you happen to be in downtown Nicosia amongst the suited-and-booted office crowd, then you'll be looking to 'do lunch' and grab a table and Silver Pot is undoubtedly the most popular hangout. It serves daily specials of no-fuss, honest, good food with organic and fresh ingredients brought together in the most creative combinations. The tables are managed by a team of enthusiastic ladies whose passion for what they do will keep you coming back.

It's great for a lazy weekday morning breakfast with pastries made on the spot, pancakes with mascarpone and fresh fruit, and all kinds of egg-related treats, together with their house blend of 100% arabica beans. In fact, on Saturday late mornings, you'll find its staple following enjoying the brunch menu, ranging from granola and fruit pots to omelettes and cinammon rolls. It really is an indulgence no matter what you order.

We had the pleasure of trying the pork tikka with jasmine rice (above), homemade mango chutney and fresh greens, and the chilli corn carne (below) that was so aromatic, especially with the avocado and yoghurt added on top. For afters, the blueberry and apple crumble with mascarpone cheese was the perfect wintery treat, although next time I'll be tucking into the chocolate chilli tart for sure. Cannot wait to visit again soon.
