With its ever-changing menu, impressive wine list and effortless ambience, no other wine bar on the island comes close to Vinocultura.
The great thing about 'Vino' is that it's incredibly versatile, with various seating and menu options depending on the type of event you have in mind. You can grab a spot at the bar for a date or catch-up with a friend, there are tables inside the wine cellar for an intimate gathering or crash course in wine tasting, or smokers can get together on the heated terrace dotted with high tables. The menu is equally diverse, from cocktails to all kinds of liquor on the rocks alongside their renowned wine list offering labels by the glass or bottle, relative to your budget.

My favourite spot is at the bar in the corner, either with my partner or with friends - it's great for people-watching but a cosy spot for chatting away. Now the tapas selection in the past was pretty limited and uninspiring but the updated menu is definitely a step in the right direction, with more variety and creativity than ever before. I recommend the prawn tacos as a refreshing starter - after all, prawns, avocado and sour cream are pretty irresistible for most of us! Also the chicken canneloni will melt in your mouth and is an ample portion for what you pay.
The other dishes I tried were well-cooked however may not be to everyone's taste. For example, the potato with truffle is a little boring on its own - it needed something to complement it. Similarly, the pork fillets on a bed of spinach - even though the meat had a nice taste, it was a little dry and the tahini sauce did not really suit.
I did like the lamb though and the caramelised onion on the side but it did not need the mountain or oregano on top nor the dry dry pastry underneath which gave nothing to the tapas as a whole!
However there are many other dishes to sample and the menu does not stay the same for very long, giving its loyal clientele reasons to come back. It's a unique experience for any kind of night out therefore it remains a firm favourite of mine.
