Lahmadjoun Avo

Onasagorou Street, Old Nicosia
22661172, 99843977

There's nothing like picking up a light snack for a quick munch on your walkabout. Ladhmajoun Avo - a little Armenian takeaway stop in Old Nicosia is great for grabbing a bite for your meander in old Nicosia's sidestreets.

If you step inside, you will find a team of cooks rolling out the dough to make either all kinds of pastry-based delicacies, which are placed in the wood-fired oven. T
he lahmadjoun costs less than two euros and is served fresh, rolled up with parsley and a drizzle of lemon juice on top - delish. The halloumi pie is equally good, a calzone type pastry filled with salty, village halloumi, its taste enhanced by lots of mint.

Finding Avo’s is pretty easy on weekends because you will spot the queue of people stretching out into Onasagorou Street, waiting for their light bite. Definitely worth stopping by for a quick snack!
